Argenta Board of Trustees met on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

MINUTES REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF ARGENTA, ILLINOIS #17/01/03 R01 TUESDAY, JANUARY 3, 2017 @ 6:00 P.M. VILLAGE HALL, 330 N WARREN STREET, ARGENTA, ILLINOIS

Call to Order: Mayor Luedke called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Roll Call: Mayor Luedke and Trustees Hanna, Crower, Kaufman, and Pagel were present. Trustees Barker and Bowman were absent. Also in attendance were Sgt. Atkins, Street Superintendent Ken Smith, and Clerk Sherry Koszesza. There were no residents in attendance. Pledge of Allegiance Consent Agenda:

1. Approval of Board Meeting Minutes of December 19, 2016, #16-12-19 R24 2. Approval of Disbursements #17-01-03 D01 3. Approval of Bank Reconciliations #17-01-03 BR01

Trustee Pagel moved and Trustee Hanna seconded to approve the Consent Agenda as presented. Upon a call of the roll, the vote was:

Hanna = Yes Crowder = Yes Kaufman= Yes Pagel = Yes Barker = Absent Bowman = Absent Motion carried. Public Comment: There was none. Recognition of Visitors: There were none. Department Reports:

1. Law Enforcement Report: Sgt. Atkins reported that everything has been pretty quiet. It is the time of year to bid jobs. They will know on the 15th if we will get a new deputy. Mayor Luedke said that we would like to keep Deputy Hunt. Sgt. Atkins said that since it is a bidding process, we won’t know until after the bidding is done.

2. Village Staff Reports: Street Superintendent Ken Smith said that he and Trustee Crowder got the Christmas lights down today. They also put new bulbs in the parking lot lights. They have been out for well over a year. There is one light on the water tower that is out and cannot be changed right now because of where the water plant antenna is located. Ken will have the tower guys change it. He said that it may be a little slick in the morning but he would like to save the salt for bigger ice events. The Board was OK with that.

3. Mayor’s Report: Mayor Luedke said that Clerk Sherry Koszesza called Area Disposal today about lots of garbage totes that were not emptied. Jeremy Benton at Area said that there are over 30 people on the shut off list for garbage. Area will send a list to Sherry and she will send out letters tomorrow. Trustee Barker arrived at 6:05.
