Enrollment Analysis: Multiracial students comprised 9.2% of Macon County’s districts student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 1,368 multiracial students enrolled in Macon County school districts in the 2022-23 school year, 1.6% more than the previous year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education.

Data showed that multiracial students made up 9.2% of the 14,880 students in the county. They were the third most represented ethnicity at the time.

Among the seven districts in Macon County, Decatur School District 61 recorded the highest enrollment of multiracial students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 1,060 students.
