There was one gas station in cities across Macon County selling regular gas at the lowest price of $2.73 per gallon in the week ending Mar. 7, according to customer reports submitted to GasBuddy.
Countywide, regular gas averaged $3.08 per gallon.
GasBuddy reports show that regular gas was available at 44 of the 49 reported gas stations in Macon County.
The average reported price for a gallon of regular gas in Illinois was $3.32, up from the previous week.
U.S. gas prices continue to decline after reaching their lowest level since 2021, according to GasBuddy. The group projects the national average could dip below $2.80 per gallon during the holiday period, driven by increased oil production and lower seasonal demand.
