The Millikin University men’s tennis team lost to North Central College on March 29 at the Fairview Park Tennis Complex in Decatur, Illinois. The Big Blue were defeated 0-7 by the Cardinals.
This match is part of the regular season for both teams and reflects ongoing competition within collegiate men’s tennis. The results highlight close contests, particularly in doubles and some singles matches.
In doubles play, Millikin’s teams of Gillian Nahum and Jorge Aura, as well as Matthew Kordesh and Thomas Tartari, each played tight matches but ultimately fell with scores of 4-6. These narrow losses allowed North Central to secure the doubles point early in the match.
During singles play, Nahum extended his No. 1 singles match against Phillipp Wottgen to three sets before falling. Aura also had a competitive showing at No. 5 singles, with his first set decided by a tiebreaker that ended 6-8 against Ruiz Hernandez.
Looking ahead, Millikin men’s tennis will return to action on Tuesday, March 31 at the Fairview Park Tennis Complex where they are scheduled to face St. Olaf at 3:00 PM.
