Spending per pupil at Maroa Forsyth Community Unit School District 2 was up 1.8 percent from five years ago, according to the Macon Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Macon County school district spent $9,266 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $9,430 in 2019-20.

The district’s enrollment fell from 1,236 to 1,198 students over the same period.

Maroa Forsyth’s spending in 2019-20 was 34.9 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
