“This is a valuable opportunity for students considering a health care career,” said Jay Boulanger, volunteer services coordinator. “Placements include Admission & Testing, the Emergency Department, Baylis Day Surgery, reception lounges, information assistance and more. Students will see firsthand a variety of different roles within the health care field.”

The program, which is open to students 16 years and older, runs from May 22 through August 4. (Start times will vary depending on when the student is finished with the school year.) Four-hour shifts are available weekly, although dates and times may vary.

Students must submit an application, which can be found at memorial.health/volunteer, along with a 200-word essay about why they want to volunteer. In-person interviews will be conducted April 24 -28 with a mandatory orientation on May 20.

Questions can be emailed to Boulanger at boulanger.jay@mhsil.com.
