Village of Bethany Board of Trustees met Aug. 28.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The special board meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by President Jon Book. The following Trustees were present; Dave Doty, Jeannie Ruppert, Zakary England, Greg McLain, Raven Allen, and Brian Gill.

Public – None

Trustee McLain made a motion to amend the agenda to move up the Executive Session, seconded by Trustee Ruppert. Roll call taken, all ayes, motion carried.

A motion was made by Trustee McLain to enter into Executive Session to discuss personnel, seconded by Trustee Allen. Roll call taken, all ayes motion carried.

A motion to go back into Open Session was made by Trustee Allen, seconded by Trustee Ruppert. Voice vote, all ayes.

TIF Agreement Ordinance with the Marrowbone Public Library – A motion was made by Trustee McLain to approve Ordinance #23-826 concerning the TIF agreement with the Marrowbone Public Library, seconded by Trustee Ruppert. Roll call taken, all ayes, motion carried.

Radon Mitigation at the PD – Chief Nichols brought in a total of three quotes for this issue. The new one was from Peoria Radon Mitigation for $4600. This issue is in the crawl space. This would also help with the moisture and mildew smell in the office. A motion was made by Trustee McLain to accept the bid from PRM in the amount of $4600 for the police station, seconded by Trustee Allen. Roll call taken, all ayes, motion carried.

Other Old Business – Trustee Doty mentioned the handicap parking spot request on Main St. He found that we could do a Resident Permit Parking space for residents. This will be discussed more at the September meeting.

TIF Agreement for Siding at the American Legion – The Board asked Trustee McLain last month about how much it would be for the materials for the siding project at the Legion. The cost is $2282.78. A motion was made by Trustee Allen for the cost of siding materials for the Legion at a cost of $2282.78 as a TIF grant, seconded by Trustee Ruppert. Roll call taken, all ayes, motion carried.

Compensation for Office Adam Payne – This was discussed in Executive Session. Trustee Allen made a motion to increase Officer Payne’s pay by $2.00 per hour; from $22 per hour to $24 per hour, seconded by Trustee Ruppert. Roll call taken, all ayes, motion carried.

Interviewing New Attorney for the Village – This was discussed in Executive Session.

With no other business to discuss a motion to adjourn was made by Trustee Allen and seconded by Trustee Ruppert. Voice vote taken, all ayes, motion carried. Meeting was adjourned.
