South Wheatland Fire Protection District responded to 45 calls in 2016, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System obtained by the Macon Reporter.

The calls in South Wheatland included 33 fires - 22 structure fires and 10 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $1,500 in fire loss - or about $45 per fire.

The department also received 12 false calls.
