Most frugal cities in Greater Decatur

Budget 13

Village of Niantic, Village of Allenville and Village of Gays top the list in Greater Decatur with the lowest spending per capita in 2017, Illinois State Comptroller financial reports show.

State law requires local governments to self-report financial records each year, including revenue, spending and debt. Municipal spending per capita is calculated to compare budget habits across cities and villages.
