Analysis: Decatur pays $3.36 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Decatur Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 77.2 percent of the $5,457,478 the Decatur Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.36 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Macon Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Decatur contributed $4,213,121 to the fund, which saw a $16,608 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $1,251,329, or 22.9 percent, in 2016.
