Mt Olive Fire Protection District responded to 40 calls in 2017 - 25 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.
The calls in Mt Olive included 31 fires - 10 structure fires, seven vehicle fires and 14 other fires. The fire department also responded to two calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.
In all, the department saw $121,200 in fire loss - or about $3,910 per fire.
The department also received seven false calls.
