Report: Decatur spent $12,238 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Decatur School District 61 is up 17.8 percent from five years ago, according to a Macon Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Macon County school district spent $10,389 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $12,238 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 8535 to 8923.

Decatur's spending in 2017-18 was 8.2 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
