Report: Sangamon Valley spent $10,136 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Sangamon Valley Community Unit School District 9 is up 5.4 percent from five years ago, according to a Macon Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Macon County school district spent $9,615 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $10,136 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 708 to 724.

Sangamon Valley's spending in 2017-18 was 24 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
