City of Clinton Council met Jan. 22.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Minutes of the regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Clinton, Illinois in session in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Roger Cyrulik, presiding. On roll call, Commissioners Ballenger, Edmunds, Crang and Wise were present.

Written motion was made by Commissioner Wise and seconded by Commissioner Ballenger that the minutes of the regular meeting of January 7, 2019 be approved as submitted. On roll call vote, Commissioners Edmunds, Wise, Ballenger and Mayor Cyrulik voted “Yes”. Commissioner Crang Abstained.

The bills and payroll were read.

Written motion was made by Commissioner Edmunds and seconded by Commissioner Crang that the bills and payroll be allowed as read and the Clerk be instructed to issue warrants on the Treasurer for the several amounts. On roll call vote, Commissioners Crang, Wise, Ballenger, Edmunds and Mayor Cyrulik voted “Yes”.

PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS

None

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS

Mayor Cyrulik had no report.

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF STREETS & PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS

Commissioner Crang thanked all the City employees for a job well done during the past two weekend snow storms. She also stated the Street Department has been moving a lot of snow to get it off the streets.

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC PROPERTY

Commissioner Wise reported that the water meter replacement project is going well. He also thanked the City employees for all their hard work during the snow storms. He wanted to remind citizens there is no parking on snow routes and that they need to move their cars.

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH & SAFETY

Commissioner Ballenger reported he received a report for ILEPA for the car wreck that dumped fuel into the creek. It was an eight hour call to get it cleaned up. He also stated that the Fire Dept. put On File the Communication Equipment that will be paid for with a Grant from the Clinton Power Plant. He also wanted to remind citizens not to leave candles burning, which was the cause of a house fire last Friday.

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTS & FINANCES

Commissioner Edmunds reported that the Sales Tax was $6,500 short of last year at this time but overall a little bit ahead of last year.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Written motion was made by Commissioner Wise and seconded by Commissioner Ballenger to approve the Water Tower/Land Lease Agreement between the City of Clinton and MR System Wireless, LLC. On roll call vote, Commissioners Wise, Ballenger, Edmunds, Crang and Mayor Cyrulik voted “Yes”.

NEW BUSINESS

On File – Redevelopment Agreement – John Miller/101-103 E. Washington St.

On File – Communication Equipment/Fire Dept. – Nuclear Regulatory Grant - $17,525.67

ADJOURNMENT

With no further business to come before the Council, a motion was made by Commissioner Ballenger and seconded by Commissioner Crang to adjourn the meeting. On roll call vote, Commissioners Ballenger, Edmunds, Crang, Wise and Mayor Cyrulik voted “Yes”.
