Q2 2018 Recap: Parolees in Decatur convicted of sex crimes

There were three offenders convicted of sex crimes released on parole in Decatur during the second quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Macon Reporter.

The data shows that three men were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for sex crimes was 37. The youngest parolee was a 35-year-old man sentenced in 2011, and the oldest was a 38-year-old man sentenced in 2016.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Patrick D. Carey. He was convicted of a sex crime in 2011 when he was 27 years old. He is now 35.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders in Q2 2018 who were convicted of sex crimes.
