Jan.-June 2018 Recap: Parolees in Decatur convicted of crimes against justice

There were seven offenders convicted of crimes against justice released on parole in Decatur during the first half of 2018, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Macon Reporter.

The data shows that seven men were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes against justice was 36. The youngest parolee was a 24-year-old man sentenced in 2016, and the oldest was a 59-year-old man sentenced in 2017.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Joseph W. Spent. He was convicted of a crime against justice in 2015 when he was 43 years old. He is now 47.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the 50 cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders during the first half of 2018 who were convicted of crimes against justice.
