Greater Decatur Chamber Of Commerce issued the following announcement on Dec. 8.

The Greater Decatur Black Chamber of Commerce will be holding a GATA (Grant Accountability and Transparency Act) training for those interested in getting registered for state grants. This event will be free to all members. $50 for non- members.

Illinois has implemented this process and in order to submit for any state grant you must be registered in GATA.

In the summer the state had $15 million dollars in grant money for minority businesses for equipment, buildings etc. Many were not GATA certified and couldn't submit for monies for their business.
