Decatur home prices rise in the first half of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the first half of 2019 in Decatur rose by $4,050 while total sales decreased by 10.4%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through June of 2019, there were 527 homes sold, with a median sale price of $64,000 - a 6.8% increase over the $59,950 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 588 homes sold in Decatur in the first half of 2018.

The median sales tax in Decatur for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $1,336, approximately 2.1% of the median home sale price for the first half of 2019.
