City of Clinton City Council met March 2.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Minutes of the regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Clinton, Illinois in session in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Monday, March 2, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Roger Cyrulik, presiding. On roll call, Commissioners Wise, Ballenger and Buchanan were present. The City Clerk announced that Commissioner Edmunds has made a timely request to attend the meeting electronically for medical reasons. The Council had no objections to electronic attendance and Commissioner Edmunds’s request to attend electronically was approved and he was declared present.

Written motion was made by Commissioner Ballenger and seconded by Commissioner Buchanan that the minutes of the regular meeting of February 17, 2020 be approved as submitted. On roll call vote, Commissioners Ballenger, Edmunds, Buchanan, Wise and Mayor Cyrulik voted “Yes”.

The bills and payroll were read.

Written motion was made by Commissioner Edmunds and seconded by Commissioner Wise that the bills and payroll be allowed as read and the Clerk be instructed to issue warrants on the Treasurer for the several amounts. On roll call vote, Commissioners Edmunds, Buchanan, Wise, Ballenger and Mayor Cyrulik voted “Yes”.

PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS

None

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS

Mayor Cyrulik had no report.

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF STREETS & PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS

Commissioner Buchanan reported brush pick-up will start back up this month on the 3rd week of each month and reminded the citizens that the brush can not be set out until one week prior to the pick-up and leaves need to be in bags to be picked up.

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC PROPERTY

Commissioner Wise reported everything at the Water Plant is running smoothly.

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH & SAFETY

Commissioner Ballenger had no report.

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTS & FINANCES

Commissioner Edmunds had no report.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Written motion was made by Commissioner Buchanan and seconded by Commissioner Wise to approve the Purchase of a 2020 Ford Explorer for the Sewer Dept. from Anderson Ford in the amount of $30,395.00. On roll call vote, Commissioners Buchanan, Wise, Ballenger, Edmunds and Mayor Cyrulik voted “Yes”.

Written motion was made by Commissioner Ballenger and seconded by Mayor Cyrulik to approve the Purchase of Playground Equipment for the Parks Dept. from Molanda Company in the amount of $61,971.00. On roll call vote, Commissioners Wise, Ballenger, Edmunds, Buchanan and Mayor Cyrulik voted “Yes”.

NEW BUSINESS

On File – Construction Engineering Service Agreement/Center St. Project – Cummins Engineering Corporation

ADJOURNMENT

With no further business to come before the Council, a motion was made by Commissioner Ballenger and seconded by Commissioner Buchanan to adjourn the meeting. On roll call vote, Commissioners Ballenger, Edmunds, Buchanan, Wise and Mayor Cyrulik voted “Yes”.
