The City of Sullivan is seeking ways to help provide financial relief to small businesses that are being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Laurrie Minor, director of Sullivan Economic Development Chamber, has been working with six local businesses that qualify for small business grants. But many other small businesses don't qualify for the assistance.

“Although several of our local businesses have had to close, many do not have enough full-time employees to qualify,” Minor told News Progress.

Minor said three of the six qualifying businesses will be able to move forward in the Downstate Small Business Stabilization program. The Community Development Block Grant funds the program, according to News Progress.

The Little Theatre and the Sullivan Dance Studio are among businesses hoping to qualify for $25,000 for coronavirus relief.
