Analysis: Decatur pays $3.45 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Decatur Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 77.5 percent of the $6,084,800 the Decatur Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $3.45 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Macon Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Decatur contributed $4,713,752 to the fund, which saw a $426,983 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $1,364,975, or 22.4 percent, in 2018. Another $6,073 came from other unspecified sources.
