Blue Mound Fire Department issued the following announcement on Feb. 01.
Nearly our entire community is without power this evening. It is expected to be off for the next 2 hours. The power is out due to a emergency maintenance repair. We understand you didn’t get much notice and it’s a bit inconvenient. But the power will be back on.
If you are a person that is on oxygen by machine, and you start to run low on your bottle supply, please do not hesitate to call 911 and dispatch will get us to you with oxygen. We also have a limited supply, so please only call if it’s a emergency.
Also, if your house gets too chili for young children and you don’t have anywhere else to go. Contact Chief Hedges and he will get you into the firehouse for warmth. We have a generator that runs the entire station.
