City of Clinton City Council Met Aug. 2.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

Minutes of the regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Clinton, Illinois in  session in the Council Chambers of City Hall and electronically at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Roger Cyrulik, presiding. On roll call, Commissioners Edmunds,  Buchanan, and Wise were present. Commissioner Ballenger was absent.  

Written motion was made by Commissioner Buchanan and seconded by Commissioner Wise that the minutes of the regular meeting of July 19, 2021 be approved as submitted.  On roll call vote, Commissioners Buchanan, Wise, Edmunds, and Mayor Cyrulik voted  “Yes”.  

The bills and payroll were read. 

Written motion was made by Commissioner Edmunds and seconded by Commissioner Buchanan that the bills and payroll be allowed as read and the Clerk be instructed to issue  warrants on the Treasurer for the several amounts. On roll call vote, Commissioners Wise, Edmunds, Buchanan, and Mayor Cyrulik voted “Yes”.  

PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS 

None 

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS 

Mayor Cyrulik reported the Warner Hospital & Health Services took bids for the parking  lot and should start tomorrow so be patient with that construction. 

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF STREETS & PUBLIC  IMPROVEMENTS 

Commissioner Buchanan had no report.  

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC PROPERTY 

Commissioner Wise reported that on Friday there was a leak on Kleemann Dr. caused by  a construction crew getting water from the hydrant and shutting the main down to quick  that the department had to fix and with all the leaks being worked on there was a pile of  material at the Water Plant that the Street Dept. and the County helped haul away and he  thanked the departments for their help. He also thanked Clint Lichtenwalter, City  Treasurer for setting up for citizens to go paperless to receive their water bill by email. 

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH & SAFETY 

Commissioner Ballenger was absent. 

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTS & FINANCES 

Commissioner Edmunds had no report.  

UNFINISHED BUSINESS 

Written motion was made by Commissioner Edmunds and seconded by Commissioner Wise to adopt Ordinance #1537, An Ordinance Authorizing Sale of Real Property – Illini  Addition (Building Lots $25,000.00 and Out Lots $2,000.00). On roll call vote,  Commissioners Edmunds, Buchanan, Wise, and Mayor Cyrulik voted “Yes”. The Mayor  was concerned if the Out Lots do not sell how does the City get in to mow and Steve  Myers, City Attorney stated that will be addressed in the contracts when the Building  Lots are sold.  

Written motion was made by Commissioner Buchanan and seconded by Commissioner Wise to approve the Purchase of an End Loader for the Sewer Dept. from Altorfer in the  amount of $112,386.00. On roll call vote, Commissioners Buchanan, Wise, Edmunds, and Mayor Cyrulik voted “Yes”. 

NEW BUSINESS 

None 

ADJOURNMENT 

With no further business to come before the Council, a motion was made by  Commissioner Buchanan and seconded by Commissioner Wise to adjourn the meeting.  On roll call vote, Commissioners Wise, Edmunds, Buchanan, and Mayor Cyrulik voted  “Yes”.
