Report: Sangamon Valley School District spent $10,660 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Sangamon Valley Community Unit School District 9 was up 5.9 percent from five years ago, according to the Macon Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Macon County school district spent $10,064 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $10,660 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 721 to 671 students over the same period.

Sangamon Valley's spending in 2019-20 was 26.4 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
