Report: Meridian School District spent $9,327 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Meridian Community Unit School District 15 was up 1.6 percent from five years ago, according to the Macon Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Macon County school district spent $9,176 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $9,327 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 1,035 to 1,019 students over the same period.

Meridian's spending in 2019-20 was 35.6 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
