The Big Blue swim team celebrated their seniors on Saturday, February 4 competing against North Central College. The women's team honored seniors Kaitlyn Mayer and Sarahi Villafana, and the women downed North Central 145-36 while the men defeated NCC 109-32. 

In the first event of the day, the relay team of Emma Cox, Natallie Buchanan, Amanda Fathman, and Erin Powell won the 400 medley relay in a time of 4:44.87. On the men's side, the team of Msanaa Bosland, Aaron Amaya, Jason Burrow, and Mark Miller won the race in a time of 4:11.61. 

Shay Buchanan was the victor in the 1000 yard freestyle in a time of 12:10.26. In the men's race, Burrow placed first in a time of 13:02.04. 

Kendall Rossignol picked up an individual win in the 200 yard freestyle in her time of 2:10.31. On the men's side, Bosland won the race in 1:55.71. Miller placed second. 

The senior Mayer took the victory in the 50 yard freestyle in 26.88, with Grace Meacham placing second and Powell in third. On the men's side, Justin Maniago placed first in 23:08 and KJ Hamlin placed second. 

In the women's 200 yard IM, Aly Barnes took first in 2:23.76 with Natallie Buchanan placing second. On the men's side, Jack Hughes was the victor in 2:10.47 and Amaya took second. 

Mayer picked up her second victory of the day in the 100 yard butterfly in a time 1:06.29. Kally Saenz took third. 

In the 100 yard freestyle, Fathman took first in 59.82 with Villafana placing second and Julia Druml in third. 

Powell picked up a victory in the 100 yard backstroke in 1:09.89 with Meacham in second and Cox placing third. 

Hamlin took first in the 100 yard backstroke in 1:04.53 with Hughes behind him in second. 

Rossignol tallied her second individual win of the day in the 500 yard freestyle, recording a time of 5:52.50. Maniago took first in the men's race in 5:15.62. 

Natallie Buchanan took second in the 100 yard breaststroke in 1:17.65. In the men's race, Amaya placed first in 1:07.97. 

The women's 400 yard freestyle relay team of Barnes, Villafana, Rossignol, and Mayer placed first in the event in a time of 4:04.60. On the men's side, the team of Hamlin, Hughes, Bosland, and Maniago placed first in 3:33.95. 

The Big Blue swim teams will be back in action at the CCIW Conference Championship Meet beginning February 16.
