Maroa Forsyth Community Unit School District 2 Board of Education met Feb. 13

Maroa Forsyth Community Unit School District 2 Board of Education met Feb. 13.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Presentation:

BLDD and O'Shea on a construction update- project on track for move in on scheduled week. Learning & Discussion (please add any notes next to topic)

Topics:

1. Communication system

Beck Tech provided new bids for different types of radios per previous request. The better radios are better because the admin can interrupt all other traffic. The cameras also have a license plate reader.

2. Closed session minute review

Recommend these stay closed as they house the personnel and discipline reports.

3. PressPlus 110 update and policy 7.40

Dr. Kahler received clarification on fee waivers. Home school sports participants must pay 1/8 of the registration fee and the class fee associated with that class. The student must have completed the pre-requisite classes to take the next level in person.

4. GS gym floor update

The floor has laid back down. The fans are running again underneath with minimal noticeability at the edge. Dr. Kahler would like to do nothing with the floor as long as the fans are working.

5. Landscaping at HS

We are working on bids to get work completed this summer.

6. Election update

There are 2 Forsyth spots available in the next election. There is one 2-year spot and one 4-year spot.

There are 3 people running for the 4-year spot and no people running for the 2-year spot. The board is not sure why they were never notified in the different terms available.

7. SEA/AP Job Description

The admin list has been put together.

8. School Nursing Services

Memorial Health is short on nurses. They are pulling back all nurses from schools to work in the hospitals. We are looking to place a nurse in the teacher salary matrix. This will be a 9-month job in IMRE not TMRF

9. Committee Reports

Foundation- the dinner will be March 11th.

10. Principals' Report

There were no questions. There is a lot happening at the Middle School with the new school opening

The 8th Grade Promotion will take place in the new gym. If they hosted in the new auditorium,

we would have to limit the number of attendants. We will have in the gym to prevent restrictions. soon.
