Graduates earn 959 degrees, certificates from Richland Community College

About 20.4 percent of the 959 degrees and certificates handed out by the Richland Community College in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Decatur conferred 123 certificates and 73 associate's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. Data shows the school gave out 112 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies, followed by 86 certificates in Nursing Assistant/Aide and Patient Care Assistant/Aide and 72 certificates in Automobile/Automotive Mechanics Technology/Technician.

The college enrolled 2,839 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
