City of Decatur issued the following announcement on Sept. 12.
The City of Decatur in partnership with Advanced Disposal is sponsoring a FALL Citywide CLEANUP on September 12th from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Decatur Civic Center parking lot.
City of Decatur residents will be allowed to dispose of large items for no charge. Acceptable items include: furniture, mattresses, and household items. Limited amounts of tires will also be accepted. NO ELECTRONICS, appliances, paint or yard waste. Items must be placed in roll off bins located within the parking lot.
The next citywide cleanup will be on October 11th from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. It will be the last one of the year.
The “FALL Citywide CLEANUP” is part of the City’s initiative designed to reinvigorate and improve neighborhoods. This is the third organized cleanup of the year.
