7. Approval of Village Bills

8. Department Reports

A) Streets - Trustee Mears reported the water main project was underway.

B) Health and Safety- Trustee Atwood reported the playground equipment that had been determined unsafe has all been removed from the playground. The village will be replacing the flat swings with three infant swings and one see-saw at a cost of $1077.00.

C) Water - Trustee Falk reported to the board that the water main project is now under construction and moving along well.

D) Zoning- No report

E) Finance - Trustee Kaufman had no report

F) Water Operator - No report

G) Village Clerk - No report

H) FOIA Officer- Kim Donovan reported to the board the village continues to receive numerous FOIA requests. Donovan continues to work closely with the Attorney General / PAC office. Donovan continues to deal with past FOIA requests from 2017. The month of June FOIA cost resulted in approximately $650.00 in wages, approximately $150.00 attorney fees and $65.00 postage to mail FOIA documents to a village resident. The first six months of 2018 the village has paid out approximately $15,500.00 to fill FOIA requests.

9. Public Comment - The village board heard all public comments and addressed as needed.

10. New Business

A. Liquor License - No discussion or action needed

B. Mower repairs - Trustee Mears reported the village mower is needing $800.00 in repairs to replace the radiator. The village employees could replace the radiator themselves.

C. New Mower - Trustee Mears reported she would like to see the village buy a new mower with a 72" mowing deck at a cost of $10,300.00. Mears will get two more estimates for a mower. Tabled till August.

D. New Playground Equipment - Trustee Atwood reported he would like to replace the playground equipment that had to be removed with new equipment.

Motion to replace the old playground equipment and not to exceed $2,000.00

E. Landscaping at the park - Trustee Atwood would like to remove some of the old mulch around some of the bushes and trees and replace with rock. The plan is to lay down a landscaping fabric of some sort and put rock on top, this should help with the ongoing weed problem at least in some places.

F. Waste Disposal Contracts - Trustee Mears reported the contract with Area Disposal was up and the village needs to sign a new contract with someone. Village Attorney Steve Mahrt and Trustee Mears will work together to get something put in the paper to accept bids for the garbage contract for the village. This was tabled until the August meeting.

G. Appropriations Ordinance - This is something that has to be done every year
