City Of Farmer City issued the following announcement on Oct. 27.
You may have received a letter, either by regular or certified mail recently. The certified letter contained 6 pages of information and the regular letter contained 1 two-sided letter.
State statute requires municipalities proposing new TIF Districts to notify residents that live either within 750 feet of a proposed district or who own property within the proposed district.

The regular letter statute is 65 ILCS 5/11-74.4-5 and the certified letter statute is 65 ILCS 5/11-74.4-6(a) and (b).
The City sent 413 regular mail letters to those who live within 750 feet of the proposed district and 196 certified mail letters to those who own property within the proposed district.
