Report: Meridian spent $8,953 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Meridian Community Unit School District 15 is up 5.8 percent from five years ago, according to a Macon Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Macon County school district spent $8,461 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $8,953 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1096 to 1039.

Meridian's spending in 2017-18 was 32.9 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
