Decatur home prices fall in January 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in January 2017 in Decatur fell by $750 while total sales decreased by 21.8%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In January 2017, there were 61 homes sold, with a median sale price of $65,500 - a 1.1% decrease over the $66,250 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 78 homes sold in Decatur in January 2016.

The median sales tax in Decatur for 2017 was $1,336. In 2016, the median sales tax was $1,351. This marks an decrease of 1.1%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2%.
