Village of Ellenville Village Board met April 26. 

Here is the minutes as provided by the board:

      The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance by Mayor Kaplan at 12:25 p.m.

RESOLUTIONS:

MOTION AUTHORIZING MAYOR TO SIGN ELLENVILLE MILLION GRANT MATCHING/MARKETING AGREEMENT

      Motion by Trustee Gavaris, seconded by Trustee Oliveras to authorize the Mayor to sign the “Ellenville Million Grant Matching/Marketing Agreement by and between Ulster County Economic Development Alliance and the Village of Ellenville subject to review and approval by the Village Attorney.

      All in favor – Aye – motion carried

MOTION AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE TO PROVIDE MATCHING FUNDS TOWARDS A SHARED MARKETING PLAN

      Motion by Trustee Gavaris, seconded by Trustee Oliveras to authorize the Village to provide matching funds towards a shared marketing plan as developed by Gerald Berliner in an amount not to exceed $35,626.00 (funds to be expended from mountain reserve money) (1st year - $25,000.00 and 2nd year - $10,626.00)

      All in favor – Aye – motion carried.

MOTION AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO SIGN RESTAURANT LEASE AGREEMENT

      Motion by Deputy Mayor Younger, seconded by Trustee Gavaris to authorize the Village Manager to sign restaurant lease subject to Attorney approval and passing of referendum.

      All in favor – Aye – motion carried

      The additional items will also be added to the contract:

      1) 90 day termination notice or penalty of $3,000.00

      2) Leasee must owne equipment

      3) Garbage must be taken away once a week

      4) During the winter months restaurant must be opened at least four days a week (Thursday – Sunday)

      5) Leasee must pay all utilities

      6) Village will need only 24 hour notice to inspect promises

      7) 2nd floor will only be used for storage

      8) If need additional table space in needed other than the patio, it must be approved by the Village Board

      Mayor Kaplan expressed that Mr. Cafaro was the only applicant who applied. The Board had advertised twice in the local newspaper for restaurant and food truck proposals. The Village also had Paul Craft hand delivered notices restaurant and or food truck at least three times to every business in the area and the Village called several people who might have interested in running a restaurant and or a food truck and all declined.
