There were 50 offenders convicted of property crimes released on parole in Decatur during the second half of 2018, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Macon Reporter.

The data shows that 43 men and seven women were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for property crimes was 36. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced in 2017, and the oldest was a 60-year-old man sentenced in 2017.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was William Porter. He was convicted of a property crime in 1996 when he was 20 years old. He is now 43.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the 50 cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders during the second half of 2018 who were convicted of property crimes.
