Village of Weldon Finance Committee met May 25.
Here is the minutes as provided by the committee:
I. Call to Order – Meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM by Chair Dan Brown.
II. Roll Call – Trustees Dan Brown, Wiley Shott, Jamie Russell, and Terry Followell were present along with Clerk/Treasurer, Josh Shofner.
III. Guests & Visitors - None

V. New Business
a. FY 2020 Budget
i. Reviewed a draft budget prepared by Village Treasurer line by line and made adjustments based on priorities of the board. The result will be the draft budget recommended at the June board meeting. ii. Josh also showed some of the new reporting he is working on that would produce a regular “actual vs. budget” report. iii. Wiley will follow up on ESDA grant reallocation as we did not use some of what was requested last year. Since we had remaining funds, we did not receive any funds this year. iv. General Fund budget is proposed similarly to last year when a $13,000 deficit was projected. We only used about 92% of expenses and finished in the “black”.
