City of Clinton City Council met July 15.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Minutes of the regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Clinton, Illinois in session in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Monday, July 15, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Roger Cyrulik, presiding. On roll call, Commissioners Buchanan, Wise and Ballenger were present. Commissioner Edmunds was absent.

Written motion was made by Commissioner Ballenger and seconded by Commissioner Wise that the minutes of the regular meeting of July 1, 2019 be approved as submitted. On roll call vote, Commissioners Wise, Ballenger, Buchanan and Mayor Cyrulik voted “Yes”.

The bills and payroll were read.

Written motion was made by Commissioner Wise and seconded by Commissioner Ballenger that the bills and payroll be allowed as read and the Clerk be instructed to issue warrants on the Treasurer for the several amounts. On roll call vote, Commissioners Ballenger, Buchanan, Wise and Mayor Cyrulik voted “Yes”.

PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS

None

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS

Mayor Cyrulik had no report.

Written motion was made by Mayor Cyrulik and seconded by Commissioner Wise to reappoint Mike Mannix to the Zoning Board of Appeals – said term to expire July 31, 2024. On roll call vote, Commissioners Buchanan, Wise, Ballenger and Mayor Cyrulik voted “Yes”.

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF STREETS & PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS

Commissioner Buchanan reported the Vouchers for the City-Wide Clean-Up are available until July 31st. The department is picking up brush this week with the help of the other departments because there is quite a bit to be picked up. He also stated on Monday, July 22nd they will start the oil and chip of the streets on the summer maintenance schedule, which are posted on the City’s website.

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC PROPERTY

Commissioner Wise reported the hydrants that were out of service have all been fixed and the summer help is painting them and doing a good job. He also stated an item will need to be placed On File for the Lime Removal at the Water Plant.

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH & SAFETY

Commissioner Ballenger reported that the fire hydrants are being painted and they look nice and said there is one back behind Rogers Concrete Plant they need to paint and wanted to make sure they knew it was there.

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTS & FINANCES

Commissioner Edmunds was absent.

Commissioner Wise placed On File - Bid for Lime Removal/Water Dept. – Evergreen FS Inc. - $11.90/ton

ADJOURNMENT

With no further business to come before the Council, a motion was made by Commissioner Ballenger and seconded by Commissioner Buchanan to adjourn the meeting. On roll call vote, Commissioners Wise, Ballenger, Buchanan and Mayor Cyrulik voted “Yes”.
