Decatur home prices fall in the first half of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the first half of 2018 in Decatur fell by $50 while total sales increased by 17.4%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through June of 2018, there were 588 homes sold, with a median sale price of $59,950 - a 0.1% decrease over the $60,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 501 homes sold in Decatur in the first half of 2017.

The median sales tax in Decatur for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $1,336, approximately 2.2% of the median home sale price for the first half of 2018.
