Argenta-Oreana Public Library District Board met Dec. 2.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The meeting was called to order at 4:34 PM by President John White. Library Board members present were Jackie Goeppinger, Trudy Smith, Linda Albert, Matt Honnold and Aaron Klepzig. Also, in attendance were Donna Schaal, Library Director and Bradley Irwin, Assistant Director.

Correspondence, communications, and public comments – There was no public comment.

The Board discussed the possibility of submitting a Live & Learn Remodeling for Accessibility Grant to the Illinois State Library. The grant is a 50/50 grant. Matt made a motion authorizing Donna to proceed with the grant with the understanding that our portion of the grant (approximately $60,000.00) would be taken from the Liability and Insurance Fund. Jackie seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed with all ayes.

At the recommendation of Donna, the Board discussed the possibility of setting up a Sick Bank for the employees. Donna had drafted a policy addition to the Personnel Policy. After minor adjustments were made to the wording, Jackie made a motion to add the Sick Bank language to the Personnel Policy. Linda seconded the motion. The motion passed with all ayes.

John asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting. Matt moved to adjourn the meeting. Aaron seconded the motion. The motion passed with all ayes. John adjourned the meeting at 5:31 PM.

The next board meeting will be on Monday, January 27, 2020 at 4:30 PM at Argenta.
