Blue Ridge Community Unified School District 18 Board of Education met Jan. 29.

A Special Meeting-AdvancED/Cognia Interviews of the Board of the Board of Education of Blue Ridge CUSD #18 was held beginning at 9:00 AM in the Blue Ridge District Conference Room, 411 North John St., Farmer City, IL 61842.

I. Call to Order

Board President, Dale Schneman called the meeting to order at 9 a.m.

II. Roll Call

Board Members in attendance were Carlos Burton, Dion Lathrom, Franci Miller, Maureen Gilbert and Dale Schneman. Kenna Dunlap Johnson and Chelsie Leffelman were absent.

III. AdvancED/Cognia Interviews of the Board of Education

AdvancED/Cognia interviewed board members regarding communication, planning, vision and goals for the future.

IV. Old Business

A. Consideration and action upon a Resolution Authorizing Emergency No-Bid Expenditure for Radon Mitigation

Motion by Maureen Gilbert 2nd by Dale Schneman to approve the emergency radon mitigation at a cost not to exceed $36,311.45 at BRIJHS and to approve the additional cost of the temporary system for radon ventilation, additional radon testing, fans, electrical work related to the project, and air handler repairs or replacement as needed, as presented.

Roll call vote. 5 ayes 0 nays Motion carried.

V. Public Comments/Recognition of Guests

Chris Zimmerman Jennifer Zimmerman Annette Warsaw Jamie Schoonover Hillary Stanifer

Chris Zimmerman addressed the board with his concerns on the radon status at BRIJHS.

VI. Adjournment

Motion by Carlos Burton 2nd by Dion Lathrom to adjourn the meeting at 9:56 a.m.

Voice vote. 5 ayes 0 nays Motion carried.
