The McClean County Fairgrounds mobile COVID-19 testing center will remain open at least through the end of May.
U.S. Reps. Darin LaHood (R-Dunlap) and Rodney Davis (R-Taylorville) made the announcement after the McLean Health Department had announced a loss in federal funding for mobile clinics like the one at the Interstate Center in Bloomington.
Overall, the county had tested 3,486 people for the coronavirus, including those tested at the site. It is open to Illinois residents who met certain health or professional guidelines.
As of May 12, Illinois reported 79,007 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, including 3,459 deaths. McLean County has 121 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
