Bement Middle School issued the following announcement on May 12.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As this school year draws to a close, we are planning on collecting items back from our students and returning personal belongings to the students on May 15th from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. We will all be practicing social distancing, using masks and gloves, and the personal belongings that are being returned to the students should be safe as they have been untouched for months and the staff used extreme care when packing. We ask that everyone stay inside their vehicles and do curb-side pick-up and drop-off. It would be helpful if you could write your student's name on a piece of paper and put it on the passenger window or on the dash. We will have a student checklist of every item that needs to be returned to the school such as textbooks, Chromebooks (please don't forget the charger cords), Hot Spots, library books, any other school-owned classroom supplies and athletic equipment and uniforms. The teachers and coaches should have given you a list of what needs to be returned so that we can check it off and give each child an "all-clear" slip upon returning those items.
PK-5 students will have curb-side in the bus turnaround by the cafeteria and 6-12 students will have curb-side on the East side of the school on Champaign Street (entering from the North and exiting to the South). We would like to encourage PK-2 to come in the morning and 3-5 in the afternoon if possible. If that doesn't work with your schedule, please feel free to come anytime between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00p.m. There is a map on Facebook and on our website. We look forward to seeing you on Friday.
