Analysis: Mt Zion pays $5.50 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Mount Zion FPD Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 84.6 percent of the $89,663 the Mount Zion FPD Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $5.50 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Macon Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Mt Zion contributed $75,876 to the fund, which saw a $33,180 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $13,786, or 15.4 percent, in 2018. Another $1 came from other unspecified sources.
