Dewitt County Marina Committee met July 6.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

MEMBERS PRESENT: Jay Wickenhauser – chair, Camille Redman, and Terry Ferguson. teleconference. Also present, Dee Rentmeister, County Administrator. Joe and MaryBeth Caldwell, marina operators.

MEMBERS ABSENT: Dan Matthews and Travis Houser

SUMMARY OF DISCUSSION:

 Motion by Redman, 2nd by Ferguson to approve last month’s minutes. Voice vote, motion carried.

 Motion by Ferguson, 2nd by Redman to approve the claims. Voice vote, motion carried.

 Discussion on the Consent Letter allowing for the County to enter into a separate lease for a Wi-Fi tower. The Consent Letter still lists a specific company. Wickenhauser stated that he spoke with the State’s Attorney and was told there were three options available: 1. Get a consent letter to provide Wi-Fi service; 2. Joe leasing directly to whatever company he wants for Wi-Fi service and this lease would only be good during the term of Joe’s lease; and 3. The county put a Wi-Fi tower on property that is not leased to Joe.

 Electrical repairs needed on dock 1. Received a quote from Sessions Electric for $2279.48. Motion by Ferguson, 2nd by Redman to approve the electrical repairs on dock 1 one not to exceed $2279.48. Voice vote, motion carried.

 Two parking lot sensors are out and a ballast is out on the ramp light. Motion by Redman, 2nd by Ferguson to replace two sensors and ballast. Voice vote, motion carried.

 Wickenhauser reviewed maintenance items with Joe:

o Boards are loose on dock 4 – (between 416 and 418)

o Weeds need sprayed; weeds growing out of the water. Joe stated that these weeds deter fishing. Consensus of committee to spray all weeds on the property including those along the shoreline.

 Ferguson stated that if the county does get the grant for the parking lot that boat owners should not be allowed to work on their boats in parking lots.

 Motion by Redman, 2nd by Ferguson to adjourn at 5:52 p.m. Voice vote, motion carried.

COMMITTEE ACTION:

Approve last month’s minutes.

Approve claims.

Approve the electrical repairs on dock 1 one not to exceed $2279.48.

Replace two sensors and ballast on parking lot and ramp lights.
