State Rep. Dan Caulkins (R-Decatur) is one of 15 members of the Illinois House of Representatives to receive a pro-manufacturing rating of 94% or higher from the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association (IMA).

Overall, 23 members of the state House and state Senate received the honor.

IMA’s annual Legislative Report Card takes into account the voting record of each member of the General Assembly, providing a real measure against which to judge political rhetoric about supporting manufacturing, according to IMA President and CEO Mark Denzler. The rating is based both on votes that support manufacturing in the state, such as opposing unnecessary regulation, and votes that harm manufacturing, such as tax hikes.

“The IMA believes it is important for employers, employees, and Illinois residents to know exactly where their lawmakers stand on issues important to the business community,” the post states. “This objective Legislative Report Card will let you know whether your local lawmakers supported the manufacturing sector, and large business community, on critically important issues related to tax policy, environmental regulations, workers’ compensation, labor law, transportation and more.”
