Moultrie County Board met Aug. 13.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Moultrie County Board met in Courtroom A, Third Floor of the Moultrie County Courthouse. Chairman McCabe called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m.

Opening Prayer by Dave McCabe.

The Pledge of Allegiance was said.

Roll Call was taken, with the following Board members present Dave McCabe, Kevin McReynolds, Mike Barringer, Arlene Aschermann, Billy Voyles, Elizabeth Houser, Todd Maxedon, Tyler Graven. Absent: Neil Bryan

There were 19 people in attendance, which included 8 Board members and County Clerk Georgia England.

Minutes: Maxedon moved to approve the May 14, 2020 County Board meeting minutes. Voyles seconded said motion, which passed by roll call vote. (8 yes, 0 no)

NEW BUSINESS:

FINANCE COMMITTEE (Chairman McCabe)

Committee met August 13, 2020.

McCabe moved to approve the Treasurer’s Report for the month of July 2020. Houser seconded said motion, which passed by roll call vote. (8 yes, 0 no)

McCabe moved to approve all claims as presented. Aschermann seconded said motion, which passed by roll call vote. (8 yes, 0 no)

LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE (Chairman Bryan)

Committee did not meet.

BUILDING & GROUNDS COMMITTEE (Chairman Barringer)

Committee meet August 5, 2020.

Barringer moved to accept County Farm Lease low bidder, Clint Robinson, in the amount of $379.17 per acre, for a term of two years beginning November 1, 2020. Graven seconded said motion, which passed by roll call vote. (8 yes, 0 no)

ROAD & BRIDGE COMMITTEE (Chairman McReynolds)

Committee met August 4, 2020.

McReynolds moved to approve the County Engineer’s salary of $94,554.00 as recommended by the State. Aschermann seconded said motion, which passed by roll call vote. (8 yes, 0 no)

INSURANCE COMMITTEE (Chairman McCabe)

Committee did not meet. No motions.

PLANNING, ZONING & LAND USE COMMITTEE (Chairman Maxedon) Committee did not meet. No motions.

PUBLIC HEALTH, SAFETY & WELFARE COMMITTEE (Chairman Aschermann) Committee met August 5, 2020. No motions.

PERSONNEL COMMITTEE (Chairman Voyles)

Committee did not meet. No motions.

TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE (Chairman Houser)

Committee did not meet. No motions.

OTHER NEW BUSINESS

Houser moved to allow the County Board Chairman to execute a Deed of Conveyance and to sign a Resolution regarding PIN #: 01-01-30-300-008, which will allow said parcel to be placed back on the tax rolls. McReynolds seconded said motion, which passed by roll call vote. (8 yes, 0 no)

McCabe moved to rescind the motion and action from the June 9, 2020 County Board meeting, which consolidated Sullivan Precincts 1 and 6 into Sullivan 1 and Sullivan 2 and 5 into Sullivan 2, placing them back to their original Precincts and polling locations. Sullivan 1 and Sullivan 6 votes at the First United Methodist Church in Sullivan. Sullivan 2 and Sullivan 5 votes at St. Columcille Catholic Church in Sullivan.

Office Holders/Department Heads: Chief County Assessment Officer Lori Barringer stated that she received final numbers from the State with the 3-year average, and she was happy to report that she and Sullivan Township Assessor Jill McIntosh received excellent ratings.

With no further business, Barringer moved to adjourn the meeting. McReynolds seconded said motion, which passed by voice vote. Meeting adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
