Mount Zion Public Library District Board met Jan. 12.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

President S. Jesse called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Members present: Austin Jesse, Sheri Jesse, Sharon White, Mark Rich, Jeff Propst, Michele Stine, and Andrea Trusner.

Library Director: Maria Dent. Children’s Assistant: Ashley Batchelder

Agenda:

Motion Stine to adopt the amended agenda. Second A. Jesse. Motion carried.

Minutes:

Motion Stine to approve the December 8, 2020 regular meeting minutes. Second Propst. Motion carried.

Financial Report:

Motion A. Jesse to approve the current bill list. Second Stine. Motion carried.

Discussion held regarding Treasurer’s Report.

Librarian’s Report:

Discussion held.

Committee Reports:

Buildings and Grounds: No Report.

Finance: No Report.

Personnel: No report

Old Business:

Motion Trusner to proceed with gathering information regarding a new sign. Second A. Jesse. Motion carried.

New Business:

Audit presentation was given.

Motion Stine to proceed with the auditor’s recommendation by adjusting journal entry. Second A. Jesse. Motion carried.

Motion Trusner to offer cards for the Cards for Kids Amendment to 75 ILCS 16/30-55.60. Second Propst. Motion carried.

Chapters 10, 11, and 13 of Serving Our Public 4.0 were discussed.

Motion Trusner to approve the revised Public Services Policies. Second White. Motion carried.

Motion A. Jesse to approve the Confidentiality of Library Records Policy. Second Stine. Motion carried.

Motion Stine to approved the Fund Balance Classification Policy. Second Trusner. Roll Call: passes unanimously (7-0) Motion carried.

Motion A. Jesse to approve the revised Investment of Public Funds Policy. Second Trusner. Roll Call: passes unanimously (7-0) Motion carried.

Motion A. Jesse to continue with the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) but revisit the need every month. Second Stine. Motion carried.

Motion Trusner to keep minutes from closed sessions closed and destroy the eligible recording from 5/21/19. Second Stine. Motion carried.

Certificate of Status of Exempt Property signed.
