Argenta-Oreana Community Unit School District 1 Board of Education Met July 12.

At 6:00 p.m., the regular meeting was called to order.
• Roll call and the Pledge of Allegiance occurred.
• District administrator(s) provided reports:
• Mr. Jones:
o Provided a report that has been shared on Facebook and TeacherEase.
• Public comments occurred.
• The board entered closed session pursuant to the Open Meetings Act-5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1), which permits a closed session to consider the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, and/or dismissal of specific employee(s) of the public body.
• The regular meeting was reconvened.
• Review and approval of Board Minutes occurred.
• The approval of Payroll/Bills occurred.
• Personnel Employment
o Action occurred on the following resignation(s):
• David Sanders as MS/HS custodian.
• Angie Ridgeway as ES secretary.
• Kristin Reynolds as 7th/8th Language Arts teacher.
• Kathy Wimer as MS Title I/Interventionist teacher.
o Action occurred on the following hire(s):
• Benjamin Leo Pate as ES evening custodian.
• Conner Haltom as Varsity Football coach.
o The Board of Education acted to increase the starting hourly rate for the following positions. If the rate is higher than any current applicable employee’s 2021-2022 hourly rate, the employee’s rate will be increased to the same amount:

• A brief update on the Kimler Gym project was provided. The board approved a bid from Flessner Floors ($7,875) to strip and polish the MS/HS kitchen floor.
• The budget hearing date, time, and location was set as follows:

6:00 p.m.
MS/HS Library
• The property, general liability, automotive, and workers’ compensation insurance renewal premium amount was approved.
• The first reading of board policies (Exhibit A) occurred.
• A Resolution to Governor JB Pritzker Requesting Local Control and Immediate Guidance for COVID 19 Mitigation Measures for the 2021-2022 school year was adopted.
• The meeting was adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
