Report: Mt Zion School District spent $9,028 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Mt Zion Community Unit School District 3 was up 8.4 percent from five years ago, according to the Macon Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Macon County school district spent $8,332 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $9,028 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 2,527 to 2,436 students over the same period.

Mt Zion's spending in 2019-20 was 37.7 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
