Blue Mound Memorial Library Board met April 25.

Monday, April 25, 2022 at 6:00 p.m., the Blue Mound Memorial Library Board of Trustees met in the annex of the Library. The Blue Mound Memorial Library President, Anne Byard, called to order the Board of Trustees meeting for April, 2022.

The Board recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

Secretary’s Report: President, Anne Byard verified that each Board member received and reviewed the March 28, 2022 Minutes that had been emailed. There were no questions. Dani Noland asked to include a statement in the March 28th Minutes in the Old Business section regarding Economic Interest Statements that Rep Dan Caulkins never returned her call. Dani Noland made a motion to accept the Minutes with the statement added. Sharon Reynolds seconded the motion. The motion carried with all “Aye” votes.

Treasurer’s Report: The Treasurer’s Report was presented in writing. With no questions, Julie Chapman made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report as presented. Amy Brown seconded the motion. The motions carried with all “Aye” votes.

Librarian’s Report:

Rob Holthaus came Tuesday 4/5/22 to look at and provide a bid to fix the problem of not being able to use multiple appliances at the counter in the annex at one time. He provided a verbal bid of $700.

Summer Reading acts have been scheduled and donations are coming in to help pay for them.

The new computers donated to the library are all installed and working. All the cords have been taken off the floor by the check out computer.

Case Lawn Care applied the first treatment of herbicide on the grass around the library on 4/21/22. Grass seed was put out on 4/20/22.

Library Activities:

Easter Egg Hunt: scheduled for April 9th from 9 a.m. until noon was another success. (This would be the 18th year for the Easter Egg Hunt which started in 2004.) Alice planned for 200 children. Donations for the event included $1000 from the Lions Club and $500 from the Township. There were a lot of good helpers in preparing the eggs and on the day of the Easter Egg Hunt.

Upcoming Programs:

Book Club will meet on Thursday, April 28th to discuss the book A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson. It will be let by Vicky McCain.

Senior Freeze Clinic date set for Thursday, April 28th from 1-3 with 14 people already signed up.

Make and Take Mother’s Day cards from 9-12 on Saturday 5/7/22. Several designs will be available.

Old Business: Discussion concerning Board Members being absent for three months or more needs to be tabled for another month.

New Business: Alice Reed asked permission to allow Julie to make deposits prior to the payroll dates in the middle and end of the month. The suggestion was approved by verbal assent.

Motion to Adjourn: With no further business to discuss, Sharon Reynolds made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Amy Brown seconded the motion. The motion carried with all “Aye” votes.
